Java (TM) Platform SE binary not responding... "crash"? Why??

  1. Hello any geek help,
    I have a Window 7 home premium package hp laptop. I've installed a 1T hard drive, 6 GB RAM, 64 bit, Pentium processor Dual-Core T4500 2.30GHz, ....
On several occasions now I've played for hours on mc when mc becomes unresponding, I can do absolutly nothing. I hold c trl, alt, & delete to bring up task manager, it tells me Java (TM) Platform SE binary is not responding, the second window will ask if I want to close program or wait for Java to respond again. I oppt to close program, which it never has been able to. It will white screen seemingly looking as if it's going to but does not. I have always had to push to power button. Why??
This has been happening more now that I have updated to the 1.12.1 & more so now I have the newer launcher too. Should I go back to the older mc ?? I don't know that I can now,...maybe white listed.

  2. Not going to happen (solely speaking for myself), just pay attention to your forum alerts. This will be there :)

First thing coming to mind: What Java version do you use? Make sure to update Java to the most recent version there is. Visit this site, and download & install. At the time of writing the latest version is Java 1.8 u121.
  3. Have you installed any mods?
  4. If Java Update doesn't resolve the issue try the following.
I can happen because the Java load of the game exceeds the java memory allocated to the Minecraft game. If you can try and allocate more RAM to the game, I for example play with 2GB of RAM dedicated to Minecraft.

  5. Allocating more memory fixed it for me.
  6. Shelluser,
Yes I have the same Java 8 121 version of Java. :)

    Jkrmnj,
No I have not installed any mods.

    SkareCboi,
That is a great idea, no I haven't done that. Can you tell me how??
    I have Windows7.

    NuclearBobomb, Thanks good deal. :D
  7. Launch Option ---> click on the profile you use.

    Tick JVM arguments and write the following: -Xmx1G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M

The green can be change to 2G, seems I'm running with only 1Gig. Maybe also try and install optifine to stabilise the game.

  8. Thanks SkareCboi,
I got allocated up to 2G now, had my son do the "fix"... in house rookie geek boy. XD He felt that my Chrome may run slower, so we will see how it all goes. I have the latest Optifine too. I will let this run as is for a week & hope it will not crash on me. Thanks for your help! :D
