We want to know this because then we can see more clearly what type of gamer someone is. I'll try to have platforming added to the genre list.

Yeah, but during the past 10 years of my life, I haven't been keeping track of what games I played when for how long. I've played dozens of games, how am I supposed to measure what games I've played for the most accumulative time?

Ah, now I see what you mean. What we actually mean by that is what your 5 favorite games are. That's poor wording from our side. Sorry

Ah, really? That is quite unclear, honestly, but would definitely change my answers hugely. For example, Minecraft would probably be in my top 5 most played games, but it definitely wouldn't be in my top 5 of favourites.
And yeah, I figured I should choose Adventure.

Joking, i'm probably not THAT smart. Also I clicked a random age on the test since I'm kinda uncomfortable with saying my age even if it's for a test like this if that's alright?

Why? That seems odd. You don't even have a way to fill in your name on that form, so Tim would have to match up the test results if he really wanted to know your age, and honestly, if he wanted to know your age range, he could probably guess.

And matching up the result is such a hardship? The fact that its possible is enough of justfication, I believe. Everyone may have their own reasons and its totally okay from my point of view to not share this information. And he can still be filtered out as his score can be matched (if otherwise this would harm the experiment), so there is no harm to the data, if that would be a problem.

I respect the decision they made, because giving out your age on the internet might not always be the best idea, especially if you don't know the person you're giving it to. Besides, it won't hurt the results that much.
