Hello! I'm going to be building a system of elytra towers and nether horse tunnels in the wasteland. The towers are super cheap to build (see materials below), and that and some small horse tunnels allow travel to anywhere in the Wasteland from a spawn point using elytra for less than 5 minutes. 678 Cobblestone (10.6 stacks) 420r 318 Wood Planks (4.96 stacks) 140r 16 (Char)Coal (.25 Stacks) 4r 27 Redstone Dust (0.422 Stacks) 64r My hope is that this will not only decrease the cost of movement through the waste and therefore harvesting resources, but by doing so it will increase the dynamism of the EMC economy. What I need from the community: Resources: 2 DCs of Cobblestone. Thanks AmusedStew! Volunteers: People to mine out and secure 3x3 horse tunnels to the elytra towers. People to build the elytra towers (having an elytra will obviously help). The plan is to host an event where we build out all the towers in a single day. Nope! We will try and build them in teams and quickly.

OK Currently SMP8 is in the lead by 1 vote. Remember though that your home server may not be the one you'd want to use the waste of, since ofc that means you're away from your main res while harvesting resources and can't just swap SMPs if you need to go set up a chest for an auction or whatever.
If you get to SMP6 before the next reset, let me know. I can hook you up with cobble. I'm pretty sure lots of others on there can too. Message me here or if you see me online. I don't have an Elytra, but it seems like a worthy project... Be careful tho. Some of us do have structures in the wastes. I like to experiment with stuff in the wastes... usually I don't care to move them anywhere permanent, but I don't want them damaged at the same time.
I'm going to donate 6500r just in case you decide to build something like this again somewhere else. And if you don't then that's also perfectly fine with me, I plan to donate anyway. You deserve something for the effort you put into this, I love it!
So there is really three options we have now. Wait for the next waste update to build a full set of these. Build a proof-of concept with maybe two towers now, take it down, and build the full version after the update. Build a full version now, take it down, build it again after the update.
I've decided to wait until the next waste reset. Unless some more people vote it looks like SMP8 will be the first to ge this system.
Yep. It's kinda a long wait but adding in the time it would take to build and destroy the towers it would come out to like 10 days worth of use.
