EMC redstone questions

  1. I am making a rather large build that involves redstone. On EMC, how many blocks away will redstone work? Is this different for horizontal & vertical? My build is mostly vertical, so that may make a difference if I am in the same chunk.

Also, is there a limit to how far away hoppers will function? Both in sucking in items and/or in than sporting them from one hopper to another.
  2. I don't think there's a limit to functionality of hoppers but with too many it will cause lagg
  3. Sounds to me like someone is wanting to build a mob farm of some sort.

If this is the case. the only issue I foresee you having is if the timer straddles a chunk border - you may get items freezing into 1 hopper and that will lock up your system. So just make sure your timer, and if possible, your sorter sits completely inside 1 chunk (though they don't have to be the same chunk as each other).
  4. The main limitation where it comes to distance is the amount of loaded chunks. Just to clarify for players who might now be familiar with the term: a chunk is an area of 16 x 16 blocks (256 blocks high) and it's basically a single piece of a Minecraft map.

As you can read on the wiki page which jkjk mentioned the cap is 6 chunks right now. Therefor such a build will be no problem if you're on the same residence but it could get a bit awkward when you're trying to spread this out further.
