Mine has defiantly got to be the 7/7 attacks that happened in London or something like the Lee Rigby attack that happened 2 year ago. Both really freaked me out.
Mine has to be either 9/11 or 7/7. Or both. I was 1 year and 4 months old when 9/11 happened, but as I was growing up and heard more about it, it freaked me out a bit. I was five and 1 month old when 7/7 happened, and I didn't know what was going on, but I knew people were getting killed and that scared me (I didn't know there was a world outside my county and thought I was like, 5 minutes away from the terrorist attack >.>). As for my grandparents and parents: IRA terrorist attacks takes the cake for them. 'The Troubles' were more of a war than terrorist attacks, though...
R.I.P. The 2976 American people that lost their lives on 9/11 and R.I.P. the 48,644 Afghan and 1,690,903 Iraqi and 35000 Pakistani people that paid the ultimate price for a crime they did not commit
An attack that occurred at 8AM (the busiest time of the London Underground, pretty much) on July 7th, 2005 in London. Three London Underground trains were suicide-bombed and a fourth occurred on a bus. It was done by Islamic extremists. It killed 52 people and injured a further 700. This, coupled with 9/11 and the already present immigrant-stigma here, is why most British people hate Muslims (they hate Jewish people more, though. People are ignorant like this). If you want to know more, there's a linky here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7_July_2005_London_bombings Anyway, this isn't a 7/7 thread, it's about a 9/11 memorial service.
Sad, sad day for the USA. I will never forget. I can't even imagine if I was there. I am in Texas and that was too close. I will try to make it. I'm at work but if I am not too busy I should be able to come. Thanks for the invite.
Thank Krsyy EVERYONE: September 11nth is a sad day, don't be happy about it. I saw the Movie when I had went to Washington D.C (last summer). It made me cry so hard. Our country doesn't deserve this. Things they where heading for: Pentagon White House Statue of Liberty These are the ones most people didn't know they wanted to hit. Lucky me! I wasn't born yet! :3 But, my Aunt died. Today I honor her for being brave.
My new school actually had their flag raising ceremony today and we honored the people who died in the plane crashes. I actually learned that one of the former teachers at my school was on the flight that was going to hit the pentagon. He helped get it off course and land in the field but he died while doing it. I will definitely attend and pay my respects to those who have lost their lives on the horrible day in history.
Nobody thinks that 9/11 is a happy day. If you do, you're a sick and twisted [insertwordIcan'tusehere]. People have varying ways of moving on with it or views on its commemoration, however, that may come across as insensitive or something. They aren't happy about it, though. The only people who are are the nutjobs who committed and organised such a heinous act.
I will try as hard as I can to attend this event on one of my alts. Thank you for holding this event, Krysyy.
