[AUCTION] Diamond Pickaxe (Efficiency IV, Unbreaking III, Silk Touch I)

This pickaxe was enchanted with 50 levels, as all pickaxes I enchant. After studying for a while the numbers here, this is how I enchant everything:

Pickaxes: Level 50
Other tools: Level 30
Swords: Level 50
Bows: Level 41
Helmets: Level 44
Boots: Level 22
Armor: Level 43

I see... hmm, well ive made like 5 pickaxes with lvl 50 and they were all garbage.... all in all i have made over 15 enchanted diamond picks and 5 of them were at lvl 50.... i cant make a silk touch to save my life.

It's all probabilities, at level 50 in a diamond pick, silk touch has a 14% probability of appearing, that means that in average of every 100 diamond picks you enchant at level 50 only 14 will have silk touch.

This seems very discouraging, but in reality odds are much better, the sequence goes like this, if you enchant only 1 diamond pick at level 50 you have 14% change of getting silk touch, but if you enchant 2 diamond picks at level 50 the chance of any of them to have silk touch goes up to 26%, and so:

1 pick : 14%
2 picks: 26%
3 picks: 36%
4 picks: 45%
5 picks: 52%
6 picks: 59%
7 picks: 65%
8 picks: 70%
9 picks: 74%
10 picks: 77%
15 picks: 89%

So you had bad luck when you enchanted 5 and didn't get it. But if you enchant 15 picks, you have almost a 90% chance that at least 1 will have silk touch.

looks like Im in the lead with last bid at 14k! I might be sitting on 2 wins tonight!

In fact, at level 50 there is only a 1.3% change of getting only efficiency III, so that is even more especial than Silk Touch at 14%, you must have extreme luck to get that with only 5 tries.

And unless inglipurr, SephirothWS or anyone else decide otherwise, the pick will be yours in just over 12 hours, Call_Me_DeJaja.

FYI, when I want just a silktouch, and don't care if that is the only enchant, I do a bunch around lvl 25. Got three that way yesterday

I simply dont have any luck getting silk touch.. ive tried mulitple xp level on over a dozen diamond picks and no luck. At lvl25 there's only a %9.2 percent chance of getting silk touch on a D.pick vs %14 chance at lvl 50... regardless, I've made multiple picks at both xp lvls, and STILL no silk touch! lol, I just dont have the luck. So, I just went ahead and tried to buy one.. now its looks like I got 2. So much for bidding in 2 auctions for the same items, I got burnt by getting the top bid on both.. unless someone bids on this one again that is!

At level 25 the probability of Silk Touch is only 9.2%, so you use less exp, but more diamonds that way. Since I consider diamonds more valuable than exp, I enchant at 50 every time.
