Within the marvelous world of multiplayer Minecraft, you are on your favorite Minecraft server. The staff members are on, the flowers are blooming, and you are outside of your house. You decide to walk to a nearby market and buy some flowers. Your lovely dog is following you into the market full of signs and item frames. The dog sees you buy more flowers for your new Minecraft house you just created. While you are walking out of the market, you hear an explosion. You start to run to your newly built house when suddenly.. it is too late.
Your house was griefed with TNT.
Griefed. At some point most multiplayer Minecraft users will have experience some form of griefing. There are many forms of griefing which include, but not limited to: fire destruction, lava/water flooding, inappropriate creations, and destruction. There are many strategies an user can do when he has been griefed. The worse decisions are arguing with staff members, going to other users and accusing them, or starting to get mad and get banned. There are many safe and easy methods you can do when you or someone else has been griefed. Below will show you G.R.I.E.F., and how to resolve a griefing peacefully without going through a risk of getting in trouble.
Tips for dealing with a griefing(G.R.I.E.F.):
- G: Gather evidence by inspecting the area to see what is broken/damaged.
- R: Report the griefing by contacting a staff member and giving them details on what happened.
- I: In good spirits, try your best to not overreact over the situation. Griefing is a hard thing. Getting mad isn’t better.
- E: Endeavor to collect resources that the griefer stole.
- F: Fix the griefing. With the resources you collected, kindly replace the blocks missing and put a sign explaining the incident.
How to help with mistakes:
Put a sign next to the explosion stating a creeper exploded the house, with also stating your username if they need to contact you. Grab the items that fell and put them in a chest next to the sign. If you know the person on the server who’s house blew up, it is probably best to send a private message to the user explaining the situation. Try your best to clean up the mess. If you don’t have enough resources, it is okay to leave a chest. If you are next to resources, try and clean up the accident. If a staff member appears, make sure you show them the sign and explain what happened.
An easy message like this can stop a conflict. 🙂
Make sure you use G.R.I.E.F. for any incident that happens, especially on the Empire. Make sure you also tell a staff member if there is an actual griefing. Happy hunting!
