Like most communities out there in the unknown that is the Web, EMC started off as a group of friends trying something new.
It all began in 2011 with GameKrib, a site that JustinGuy and GamekribJeremy founded together after their many OBAM adventures together with Team Fortress. Now you might ask yourself; who are these people!? JustinGuy was EMC’s programmer and financial manager up until 2012 when his new family amongst other matters of importance in his life took over. GamekribJeremy is IcecreamCow! That’s right, his retired alternate account.
Gamekrib is a community gaming site dedicated to everything, and although they weren’t founding members, GamekribJim, NursekillJoy amongst others were part of it. However it wasn’t until KribCraft – our original name – was born that the group started playing Minecraft together.
And from there KribCraft became EMC, owned by Kalland Labs and managed by both Justin and Jeremy, expanding as friends invited their friends to just one server and community – main.empireminecraft.com or what is known today as SMP1.
Stay tuned to find out what happened next – from the ever-growing expansion to 9 servers, changes in the community and how we play and how Kalland Labs LLC and Justin transitioned to Aikar and Starlis LLC amongst other interesting historical EMC events!

Nice beginning I like a good story and can’t wait for the next trilling instalment 🙂 I find myself as I get older I have become more nostalgic so as this story progresses I will be thinking back to my time on EMC to the good the bad and the great. Keep up the good work.
