  5. In the spirit of adventure, I started a "million meter march" on SMP2. I plan on walking (well, boating mostly) to 1,000,000 x 1,000,000. At the end of the trip, I'll probably create The Million Meter Mine, or somesuch nonsense. I suppose I could have made the trip faster on the roof of the nether, but "the journey is destination" in this case.

I would have tried to coordinate the trip with some other folks from LLO/EMC, but I never seem to be on when others are.

Anyway, If you don't see me on SMP7, this is probably where I am.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm at 200k, and taking it easy covers 50k a day. I'm going to have to figure out how to pick up the pace if I don't want it to take weeks, but there are so many fun geographic features to explore!

  6. Adventurer's Log: Day 3
My Southeastern journey has taken me roughly 260,000 blocks from those I know and love. I was down to my last log when I came across a large island in the sea. The island appears well provisioned and I have created a small sleeping platform on the Southwestern coast from whence I can provision myself before continuing my journey. In my brief sojourn along the Eastern coast I have killed numerous birds to keep my belly full. Tomorrow I shall venture into a nearby copse of trees to refresh my supplies of wood. My limited inventory prevents me from carrying the wide variety of supplies that I might wish to have at the end of my journeys. I see sugarcane and pumpkins and other bits of bric a brac that I might wish to have at the end of my travels, but space is scarce and I should have planned my journey better. Should my words reach those who may wish to repeat my quest, I suggest that you outfit yourself with a supply of enderchests and provision the same in town with a wider variety of useful supplies. Alas I began this journey on a whim and barely had the sense to grab a few diamonds before departing. I'm sure that nature will provide as I continue on.

  10. Adventurer’s Log: Day 4
I awoke this morning on my island. I say my island because I'm sure no other soul has tread here before, and few if any are likely to follow after I depart. I toiled this fourth day chopping wood until I had a full stack and my axe shattered in my hands. I spent the previous night on my elevated platform bivouacing under the stars. I felt as if I had just closed my eyes when the dawn was upon me and the Sun was in the sky. After checking for vile creatures who may have survived the dawn, I headed off toward the trees, and before I took more than a few steps and I nearly tripped and fell into a small hole that lead to a knot of caverns just below the surface. Small holes like this dotted the landscape and I tread carefully as I went about my daily duties. Much later after completing my wood gathering and a small bit of exploration, I returned to my camp, constructed a boat and headed down to the water to continue my journey. At the water's edge, the sun was just setting, and I felt I should leave before the dangers of the night emerged. Directly behind my head, I heard the unmistakable groan of the undead, and interest peaked, I thought I would dig down a few blocks to see where this monster lived. After removing only a few blocks I found the beast, dispatched him, and proceeded to explore his lair. After placing a few torches, I heard a noise coming at me and turned to see three green corpses drop through the holes in the ceiling that I had stepped over so carefully earlier and they came rushing towards me. One of them was large, but two were small and coming towards me at great speed. I swung my sword at the first little beast only to have it crack under the blow. Weaponless I punched madly at the two as the third stumbled closer. It was all I could do to keep my wits about me as they bit at my ankles and I smacked first one then the other away from me repeatedly. Finally coming to my senses, I grabbed my iron pickaxe and dispatched these children of evil with a few blows to the head, and their big brother as well. Realizing that more foul creatures could drop through the holes at any time, I ran to my boat and headed out to sea as creepers swarmed down the hill behind me and a skeleton glowing with power shot at me from a great distance. I must remember to stay on task and avoid distractions that might drag me into trouble in these lands so far from home.
  11. Haha your stories sound like they come from the book "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau. It's about the author's experiences living off the land in the woods. xD

  12. Adventurer’s Log: Day 5
I believe I passed a desert village in the night. I headed due East across a small body of water and came in sight of land again in short order. I skirted this coast to the north, and kept it on my right. I would have stopped had I not been so frightened of the night. Desert regions seem to be particularly nasty in the dark, and in my desire to make progress I moved along. Perhaps if I had more room to carry supplies I would have been more motivated. Also I did not have any emeralds which the villagers seem so fond of. I have been thinking about my island, and I’m not sure that it is actually an island. Perhaps there is simply a large bay that presses inward and the desert I coasted along in the dark was connected. I may never know. As I progressed Eastward, I was forced to go Northward, and the coast closed in from both sides and became swampy. I haven’t mentioned this yet, but before I found my island, I slept in a swamp on a small platform that I constructed from wood, and in the morning I found that I was mere steps from a Witches cottage! I looked around for the witch, as I’ve never seen one before, and the place seemed deserted. Perhaps it is for the best. I was not equipped for any sort of duel magical or otherwise. I mention this because as I passed through the swamp, and the trees began pressing in around me in the dark, I remembered the cottage and the witch that wasn’t. Eventually the shores on either side pressed in close and turned into a narrow winding channel. I followed this North back to a larger body of water, and continued to follow a general Northeastward heading. Soon enough I rounded a snowy cape and was able to return to my desired Southeastern direction. After this I made good time and was able to stay on course with only a few small islands to skirt around. When I could no longer stand the constant blue of the ocean streaming past my little skiff, I came upon a small island and decided to stretch my legs. It was just before sunset so I crafted two full faggots of torches and lit the entire island to stave off the night. The luminous effect was quite pleasing so I crafted a bed and I went to sleep happily and in comfort under the stars once again.

  17. Googling the word skydeck, I'm assuming its one of those 2 big towers with many business, restaurant and etc?
Mine has lounge/bar, Casino and pen's soon-to-be-awesome room. So.. I guess so?
  18. Yeah, a skydeck is just the observation area at the top of the tower, usually with a lot of glass.
