As someone who has worked with; Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and Linux Mint 14 I must say Windows is currently the best operating system for my current needs (contact me in a few years and I'm sure Linux will be a viable gaming platform, and therefore my OS of choice). Windows has the advantage of market share, about everyone has Windows. Windows is quite stable provided you aren't an idiot when you use it, although it will tear you a new one if you mistreat it. Just about every game is made for Windows, and that really makes it the only choice for gamers. Windows has a good amount of customization options, generally more than enough for the average user. Windows is the best simply because it works with everything. Mac OS X on the other hand, is terrible. It is the most useless, unintuitive piece of garbage I have ever had the displeasure of working with. It is the only OS where drag and drop does not copy and paste. It's the only OS where you can't transfer photos from a damn iPhone. Windows is more compatible with my iPhone than Mac OS X. There are almost no customization options beyond your wallpaper. It crashes at the slightest provocation. The devices it's preinstalled on are priced at a ridiculous price. I could go on, but I might as well wait for my rebuttal. I should also note that both Microsoft and Apple are going downhill (well, Apple is going further down). Now Linux, oh don't get me started about Linux!
I voted as Windows being better although I really wish there was an option that is that they are not better than each other but different. I personally use Windows on my computer and it has a ton of accessibility features over Mac, Windows is more of an open operating system and can be configured to your liking a lot more than a Mac. The Mac on the other hand is more robust, because it is so locked down it is safer for people who don't know what they're actually doing. Honestly I would buy Windows as oppose to Mac any day however it is not due to one being better than the other, they are each very good at very specific things... Although a Macbook Air with Windows 7 on it would be pretty cool
Well, I use windows and linux primarily, but I quad-boot my PC. Windows 7, Crunchbang linux, Mac OS X 10.8.3, and Windows XP. I build this PC . (It has taken me over 24 hours over many weeks to get Mac OS X to work correctly).
i would do something like that but i just dont see the point of having os when i can run anything on the othertwo also my windows partition is run through linux so there is no safety issues
It's simple windows. I have a windows 8 laptop I don't see why some people don't like windows 8. I mean you just got to get to know windows 8 and mess with it. Windows 8 doesn't look good on desktop mode but I wish they made it look like windows 7 on the desktop mode but still had the features of a windows 8.
have you seen the system requirements for the platform? its disgusting, as an it guy i advise anyone who hasnt fully integrated their pc into windows 8 to downgrade and even offer a complementary resource pack to do so
It just depends on what you are using it for... Also one thing I love about osx is the fullscreen app scrolling! Windows 8.1 better have it. ( I run 8 on my MacBook Pro its fast) I also like the packaging macs come in
