Layout: Well, I don't know if it's better than Google (But you are able to customize the layout to your liking if you are not happy with the default layout) although one thing is for certain, it isn't an eyesore (like Bing or Yahoo!). And that is why I dislike Google.
Ummm, from what I can tell, google actually got a higher score, has a smaller page, and is only slower by ~100 ms, which I highly doubt is going to be even noticeable. Definitely not enough of a difference to convince me to even consider switching from Google.
