What is the command or option to turn on or off wandering trader spawns? I have searched everywhere in the wiki I would think the command or option would be. I searched, albeit briefly, threads containing updates , info, bug fixes. Searching forums (search bar option above) is almost useless unless you know who posted it or when. Searched that thread as well anyway. Spent tons more time than I cared to looking up this stupid thing lol. This info should not be that difficult to find. Adding a suggestion to add this to commands list or somewhere at the same time. How do I turn on or off wandering trader spawns? I currently have it off...Did it many years ago and can't find out where the info is. Thanks Merek
I don't think there is an option to turn it off on EMC. Are you talking about single player? If so... It is the gamerule: doTraderSpawning
No, I know that gamerule. I also know I turned it off long ago. They never ever spawn for me anywhere in EMC. I do toggle them in single player.
I say again..... They... don't.... spawn... anywhere. Not in the waste either lol. (for me because I know I turned them off ) I wanted to search the suggestion archive but it doesn't go back that far. I'm pretty sure it was mentioned there. The ability to do so was shortly after 1.10 update (I believe) where everyone wanted the same ability that single player had where they could be turned off. They would spawn in the most obnoxious places, hence why MC itself had the ability to toggle on / off and why we wanted it here on EMC too. Is this some sort of Mandela effect or does anyone else remember being able to turn off wanders too?
A lot more recent than you thought... so possibly a case of misremembering. I searched for posts about wandering traders and couldn't find anything, just talks about whether they can be eggifiable or not. (I don't even know why they'd have their own seperate spawn toggleable anyway, of all mobs)
Actually. Wandering traders should spawn in the frontier as well. You just must be very unlucky. Or there is a bug where they no longer spawn, but this would be the first I am hearing of it.
No 1 seems to listen to what I am saying at all! They do not spawn for me, they haven't in years. I never get them anywhere and honestly I prefer it that way because they can spawn in really bad places sometimes and can mess up a farm. I was curious as to how I stopped them from spawning was all and where the command option is to change it. Of all the time I spend on emc (Many of you know I wouldn't bring this up if I didn't validate it 1st) and all the places I am working and doing things Waste and Frontier I would've had 1 spawn and it would've annoyed me. I promise you I'd remember. I like them off for me but I have no idea how to change it.
I assure you I am listening. As the one that does ALL of the code things for EMC, I can tell you with 100% certainty that there is no configuration for wandering trader spawns here. I even checked the code. I don't know what else I can say to convince you. With that being said, if it had been configurable, it would be under the survival section of player settings.
They do use invisibility potions when nighttime falls, so they literally cannot be seen in the night. Yet their llamas are a dead-giveaway. They most certainly do spawn on EMC, as I often get them out at Azarinth. If there is be a feature later on as chickeneer said, it would be in the PS system.
I know you understand me Chicken. ... I was responding to others. I've played MC for 10 + years. 6 of which is EMC. I have friends who started other servers during my time and am very aware of how Traders work, spawn, go invis, gamerule on off etc.. I am telling you they do not spawn for me on EMC but can and do on other servers / SP etc. Honestly that's great for me. I like it that way so this has been answered. Let's spin this topic How hard would it be for you to add this feature? When MC 1st added this feature it was because the Traders would spawn in bad places, middle of redstone contraptions, wander onto rails or into pistons and mess things up. I believe since then they may have changed their spawn conditions etc for them. It would be nice to have the option to toggle them. I personally have never found them to be useful for anything but early game and that's only to kill llamas for the leads. If it is a pain no biggie at all but thought it was worth the ask while we are on this topic in this thread. Thanks
