I know this was brought up before, and is in the list of tabled for future discussion, but the post suggesting it is 5 years old. Has there been any thought in the intervening years to this idea, possibly implementing it?
The 1.13 update will actually change up some things about eggification. We are not ready to reveal the details of that yet though. As of this time, we have not made any plans to save an entire villager with its trades in the eggification process. The primary reason, is due to resale concerns. This is a hard point - but also ruins a special aspect of the game - rare villagers.
