Welcome toThe Otaku Thread! I've been meaning to create this for a while. Basically it's a thread where you can express your love for Anime and Manga by posting pictures, quotes or whatever you want! I'll start us off with saying that Mirai Nikki is my favorite anime at this point in time. While the animations during the series aren't too interesting, the opening graphics are insane. Also, the story line is very complex but is shown is such an understandable way. This is probably just my favorite because of the story line. The voices in sub really show the emotion in every word that is said, however, in the dub, main character "Yuno Gasai"'s voice seems too emotionless, I noticed this the moment she first said something. I love the manga by Kaoru Mori. "Emma" and "Otoyomegatari" aka, A Bride's Story. There is an anime adaptation of, Emma - A Victorian Romance." The artwork in the manga's are so detailed! Example from a Bride's story: You can tell the Author has done her homework too as far as the story lines go. From the opening of the crystal Palace in England (Which then started the world's fair, and world's expo as we know it today) to the rich history and culture of the "Silk road" and those who lived during those times. I found it not only highly entertaining but also an easy to read history lesson disguised as a "comic." This will always be at the top of my anime/manga list!
One of my all time top favorite anime's is Sword Art Online. There are many reasons behind why I liked it so much. First of all:, the story line, SAO has a very complex plot since doing one thing out of place could've made the whole series not make sense, this mainly goes for the Aincrad arc when the players were stuck in the game. Secondly, the animations, the animations throughout both series' were outstanding, nuff said. Finally, characters... The only thing that really bugged me about the characters were the filler characters and the type of character Asuna came to be. The filler characters problem is self explanatory. Asuna started off in the series as a strong, independent character but grew to be reliant on Kirito, which I believe was quite a waste of character potential, but hey, I still loved the series' and how they went!
I love the constant "Nani nani!?!" from Naruto's whiny mouth in the beginning of the show. I tend to read the manga first, and then watch the show. "Well, why read the books when you can just watch the movie?" Why breathe air when you can just die? Heh heh, thanks, iFunny. I just like the manga better because the shows take up so much time. Hell, I could read two books and get three episodes worth of info and awesomeness. Manga I've Read: -Naruto (All) -Bleach (All) -Noragami (Five) -Sword Art Online: Progressive (One :/ ) -Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (All) -Yotsuba (All) -Many more that I cannot remember the titles to I have started to watch almost all of these, but I really try to only watch the show once I have finished all of the books, and, of course, only if there is a show that exists. Of course, SAO is an exception, as I will begin watching a new episode as soon as I am finished checking my alerts.

I'm not really into anime, but I like the ideas behind them. I only really watch them when I have nothing else to watch (like now, for instance. Doctor Who only just came back on, TWD doesn't start until the end of the month, neither does Russell Howard's Good News, and GoT isn't on until April 2016 ).

I'm just sharing the list of preferred anime, I know there is still a lot out there I haven't seen I cannot recommend yet. I forgot High School of the Dead in my original post here. I watched it when I was 11 after a friend told me to. It was gr8, but contained a lot of fan service that completely ruined it for me
You don't know how long I've waited for a thread like this. Anime I've watched: DBZ Blue Exorcist Black Bullet Attack on Titan Black Butler The Devil is a Part Timer Sword Art Online (Both seasons) Fairy Tail Noragami Bleach Tokyo Ghoul (Both seasons) Probably some more that just aren't at the top of my head My favorite anime would have to be Tokyo Ghoul. I was thinking Noragami, but Tokyo Ghoul is slightly better. There are a lot of reasons why I like Tokyo Ghoul. Tokyo Ghoul is an action, horrific, insanely dramatic, and a little bit romantic. Tokyo Ghoul has amazing VAs (I prefer the subbed VAs), a blurred bloodline so you don't know what side to support, characters you will hate, but will feel bad for after learning their backstory, and a suspenseful storyline. Not to mention, the fight scenes are incredible! EDIT: Continuing reasons for why I prefer Tokyo Ghoul from all of the anime I've watched. The 1st OP is amazing and is close to 3 million views!
