The Minecraft Generation

  1. So today I was watching Extra Credits (excellent series, by the way), and today they decided to touch on a particular game we all know and love...

It's truly an interesting idea, and it certainly makes sense. When I try to think of a major game like Minecraft, I continue to draw blanks. The Sims is about as close as I can get, but even that is far too unlike Minecraft. The game has moved tens of millions of units, and about every child I ever met plays it. I'm interested in perusing game development, and I'd say I've still been more effected by action-oriented games as opposed to Minecraft. It's interesting to think that if I end up in this industry, I could be working alongside people with vastly different design philosophy then the industry in the past. It's certainly making me more excited for the future of gaming.
