Alright so this halloween event got my brain juices rolling through an idea i thought of in the past yet didnt think much more about at the time. ever since the event was released ive constantly done nothing but run around hunting the mobs for no reason other than to hunt them and watch them burst into colorful shapes and to see their armor fly off. ik it sounds a bit odd but gave me a break from everything else and i enjoyed it. now to the real reason for this. The idea being some sort of Zombie survival. Would take place in a custom arena not too big or small and basically end up being what it sounds zombie survival. zombies spawn from from specified locations not near where players spawn and basically hunt everyone down. the objective is to stay alive for as long as possible and work together as a team (or run out on your own and leave everyone for dead) whatever your preference may be. the thing is there would be a few different types of zombies for example one that hits you would slowly turn you or poison you while another could tp a few blocks like an endermen etc etc. Each zombie that you kill will give you very few points that can be added up over time spent towards being able to give a small enchant to a weapon/armor (you build/aquire materials on your own like in regular survival and you get a minecraft day at least to prepare). these are just small examples that can be done though it could be expanded on or changed. Another way to spin this would be once zombies start spawning their main goal is to race to a set location and capture a certain player (whoever is randomly picked) and bring them back to their own base or just kill them to make it easier so everyone is to protect them, yet if they die they become infected and have to help. there are many more in depth details i have in mind but id rather see what others think first. and yes i do understand there are other more important things in line first im just trying to put another idea out there. Btw may have missed a thing or two but its that time of night where eyes are not working like they should and everything is getting fuzzy
Sounds like a fun idea, and it should be decently doable too I think, even without too much extra interference. Thing is: (mob) spawners can be customized (spawn range, spawn frequency, what kind of mob (obviously), what range the player(s) need to be in, etc.) so I could imagine that staff would be able to spread some of them out in a predefined area then it could get us a decently cool zombie invasion To my knowledge (would have to look this up to be sure) it's even possible to set up a maximum amount of nearby entities (thus preventing an entity overload). This could also ensure that nothing happens when there are no players around and that zombies only spawn once there are. Sounds like a fun and doable plan to me
As long as we get colorful explosions. But really, a custom version of mob arena where you get like 25 tokens for every minute you survive would be great.
Ooh I like it! Is this something that happens like once a week? OR possibly a game for the, "events/game server area thing" I've heard mentioned once or twice that's on the drawing board? Where once the required amount of players spawn in the countdown is on.
I really like the idea, I agree with it could work very well as a mob arena variant or even just a side game. Although it may not happen to soon because of 1.11, empires, land claiming and more, it would defiantly be fun. +1
yea it can go either way as far as where it would be able to get used. that or its an ongoing type event where it ends each time a castle/base has fallen victim to the zombie hoard. as far as being a spin off of MA not sure. this would be something completely different as it would take place as part of a small map instead of an arena so there is places to hide/buildup/mine for materials all while fighting the waves of zombies. another idea would be that they only spawn at night and then during day they go and hide
something else that just popped into mind. of course have its own map/maps that would be changed periodically to keep things fresh but where the game runs itself no staff needed so therefor there would be no waiting. just requires say 6 players at minimum and it sends an announcement that it will begin in 1 min for those that want to participate to join now otherwise they have to wait for the next batch of players to be able to join. or if it wanted to be taken a bit further there can be two arenas ran at the same time so those that dont make it dont have to wait for the first group to be done. as far as other types of zombies: Brute: strongest zombie does more damage and higher health while capable of breaking doors stalker: spawns baby zombies every so often to help hunt players down. these dont spawn in groups like the regular zombies do Ender: capable to tping itself a few blocks away and can go through 1x thick walls Jumper: allows itself to jump 2 blocks high so maker sure your walls are tall These are just a few ideas as far as names/abilities of other zombies to add variety and make it more and more difficult as days pass/progress.
