  1. Reasons I suggest this:
    1. People may have a laggy computer and prefer not to have to deal with the rain in the main parts of their outpost.
    2. People may want to have the new ocean biomes in their outpost in 1.13, but have already explored all of their land and don't want to claim more.
    3. People may want to make their towns/cities be in a flower forest and/or swamp so placing bonemeal down creates more/different types of flowers.
    4. People may want to make islands in oceans be in a jungle biome, or make the biome layout in their outpost be more like the real world would have.
    5. Or it could be decorative in general, or to fix a border region, or add a buffer zone between warm and frozen biomes.
However, it would need to be extremely expensive, otherwise it would be extremely OP:
    1. At least 10k tokens per 100x100 area for any biome.
    2. If it was a rare biome which spawns more types of animals, such as jungle (or in 1.13, warm or lukewarm oceans), it should be no less than 100k tokens per 10x10 area.
    3. For biomes that spawn unique flower types (flower forest, swamp, plains), snow at sea level, or have no rain, I would suggest either 100k tokens per 100x100 area, or 10k tokens per 1ox10 area (the latter would be much more expensive for the same amount of area than the former).
    4. You should NOT be able to change the biome where there is a witch hut, ocean monument, or woodland mansion.
    5. You should NOT be able to change the biome in the nether, in the end, near spawn, or really anywhere outside of your own outpost (or a public outpost that you're a part of if the owner(s) approve(s)).
    SkeleTin007 and Tuqueque like this.
  2. Part of EMC is survival/exploration, which makes it fun finding the biomes you are looking for.
Which is why, when you plan to make an outpost, all the factors involving the biome should be considered

Also, all reasons you said can be fixed one way or another
    1. People may have a laggy computer and prefer not to have to deal with the rain in the main parts of their outpost. - Optifine can help here
    2. People may want to have the new ocean biomes in their outpost in 1.13, but have already explored all of their land and don't want to claim more. -urban planning is an essential part of an outpost... Any outpost owner should plan for future updates aswell as resources expediture.
    3. People may want to make their towns/cities be in a flower forest and/or swamp so placing bonemeal down creates more/different types of flowers. - you can always use public farms for flowers, or just find a flower forest, make a farm there, and export all items to your main base
    4. People may want to make islands in oceans be in a jungle biome, or make the biome layout in their outpost be more like the real world would have. -terraforming is fun and a great challenge to take on =P
5- Or it could be decorative in general, or to fix a border region, or add a buffer zone between warm and frozen biomes.-fair enough, although minecraft already tries to do this. Part of establishing an outpost is also finding the perfect place for it

    So gonna go -0.8

  3. I will say I do like the idea but I am gonna go +0 on this

  4. My bad computer gets 10fps even with OptiFine on the lowest setting. It doesn't really help.

As for the idea, I'll have to do +0.5. It could be used for a large benefit but also EMC is supposed to have a survival aspect to it.

  5. This isn't something we could do. The way we change a biome only changes it in the server files - it doesn't change any of the terrain. It would completely break vanilla survival gameplay to have a different biome on the server side from the terrain originally generated by the server. Part of playing survival Minecraft is the exploration and discovery. Having SS come through and just add in biomes to a pre-generated region would break that gameplay.

My suggestion: basically what Tuq said. Choose an outpost location that has the biome(s) already in it that you want or find a new area with the biome(s) you want and claim it as another outpost, and transport items between them as needed. Sure it can be difficult to setup, but that's vanilla survival Minecraft.
