I had this great idea a few months ago but was too lazy today and decided to share it. I was serveying some land in the wastelands a while ago, and once I was done, I found myself with 3 bars of hunger and no way to get back to town. There was no water, no lava, and no cliffs. I find it a little annoying that I have to dig out 22 blocks of dirt and pillar up and jump. It ruins the terrain and is just pointless. My idea: enable /kill. Maybe have a warning and a confirmation just to be safe. Second suggestion: You know when you are building or working on a farm, or digging a nether rail or something of the sort and you want to get rid of items in your inventory? Why not let us use /clear? Again, maybe have a confirmation to be safe. I am open to any feedback, just don't be rude.
I'd agree with the kill, but not with the clear. You could just drop off all the stuff and not have to /clear.
This has been in the ideas bank a while now, and has been assigned to a developer for work at a future date. http://track.empire.us/issue/EMC-470 The kill command could be a good idea, but a check would have to be carried out to ensure playerhead dropping cannot occur from the command, otherwise farming of ones head could be easily done though spam typing.
I don't think kill is a good idea. When we had a snafu and the kill command became usable for a few minutes, it was instantly abused with people trying to trick others into using it... A confirmation would help yeah, but still i think there won't be too much positive use. Rather just encourage using dirt pillars.
If the player head could be farmed, why not add a timer to it, say you can do /kill but then have to wait say 3 hours to be able to type it again, will prevent head farming, and going to the waste/wild and getting items putting it in your enderchest and killing yourself so you don't have to travel back. I know with me, I like the travel back, only because I find stuff i could use/need on the way back. I also like to repair the wild around my bases to make it look nice and fresh.
