Hi everyone, I just wanted to hear some feedback regarding the existence of gambling in the community. I recently, with the help of zulu9, built a mini casino in the basement of zulu9's excellent farm shop (he has a roller coaster too). There is only one game at the moment. It's a fully functional and semi-automated roulette. Basically, it gives players the chance to double their rupees on guessing either red or black correctly, and octuple their rupees (8 times) if they guess green correctly. Obviously its a casino game, so there is a house edge. The edge comes from the fact that the odds of getting red, black, or green are slightly lower than the multiple of the respective bet payout (i.e. 4/9 chance of getting red, paid 8 on 4, or double, for the win). This information is posted on signs right in front of the game. This house edge is common sense to anyone going familiar with a casino. In the short run, many are winners, many are losers, but in the long run, the player usually loses more often than the house. Now with all that said, I'd like to know if it would be okay with the mods if I continued to operate this business (it is on hold for now since a user suggested we get approved first). right now, most gambling games our on hold and considered illegal in game when operational. However, the staff is deciding on some rules or definitions to help aid in the proper running of these games. So please continue to build, because i am sure with the amount of thought that you have put into it, it will be ok. But as of right now, it will need to stay closed.
my only concern is when rupees become purchasable with real money, a lot of kids play this game and I don't know they're mature enough to make informed decisions.
If minecraft graphic were more realistic. Someone might make it 18+ game by opening a strip club LMAO
Slighty OT: Id love to see how you made this Iv been pondering how to make one for while. (Also I keep wondering how to make poker as thats my game of choice ) (it was one my next plans to become epic rich-er)
Well I'm off to bed for now, but I'd be more than happy to show anyone how I made it and will probably be adding games as I figure out way to automate them. For now, simply visiting zulu9's farm on server 3 and heading to the Casino (follow the signs) and you can take a look at the game, but its sealed off with glass. Its not 1-36 roulette, but in the end, its the same outcome. I'll think about poker... Thanks for the feedback!
I thought about it and figured out a way to get poker going, with random card draws and everything, the problem is, it would be too complicated, slow, and long. I could make a poker-type game that is similar, but more simple, but I;d have to test it out. I'm just worried about how to hide one's hand and not have cheaters.
