  1. Im building a budget gamer for a friend and i want to know which you guys think is better, the Phenom II x4 965, or the FX-4100? Everything else is already figured out, but i cant decide which one will be better for gaming:)

  2. Even better- Get an intel sandy bridge i5 (anything from 750 series up is better than both of those 2 GPUs)

Oh, and cost about $75 on Ebay for a sandy bridge i5 750 right now ;)
  3. Lol i need to stay on budget!:p I will look into it if i can find a decent priced board:)
  4. lol $75 is cheaper than 119.99 :p

EDIT: I gave you the price for a 2400, which is about 50% faster, in the post you quoted. soz.

  5. Checking as i type:)
  6. check it on ebay for used/new ones :) [Intel i5-750]

EDIT: now $86. Sorry, haven't checked in weeks.
  7. A mobo and i5 (Anything) would put me over budget :/
  8. get an Asus p8p67 pro mobo :)

Or, even better, an ASRock X58 Extreme3
  9. I have looked up several choices, but i need the processor and mobo to total up to only $205 :/
  10. hmmmm you can't really get any good ones then........

just try a Nvdia 6600 for GPU?
  11. Please ignore the intel fanboys, You'd want to go for an FX-4100, It runs on a smaller architecture then the Phenom II's so is clocked higher and runs cooler with higher less TDP
  12. Im going to go FX, thanks for all the help! If the budget was $200 more, i would consider intel, but its just not an option for a budget build.
