Seeing how stuff like display cases and colored leather clothes are coming in 1.4, do you think someone could build a mall like the ones in real life? It could have dozens of stalls or store, rented by different player from the plot owner. Some could sells records like CD stores, a bunch could be part of a food court, others could sell building material and so on. Do you think that would work?
This can be done now actually - I have seen it before. If a group of people worked together to make a neat setup like you suggested - I think it would be pretty legit.
