A few weeks ago I started working on a build of Erebor, the Lonely Mountain from The Hobbit. I feel this is going to be a fun build with lots of different possibilities. At the middle earth outpost I selected a place beside a large lake, where Laketown was started and hopefully we can finish in the furture. The mountain is planned to be to full build height, so it can really stand out among the landscape. At the moment I am trying to decide which period to build it in... as it was as the kingdom, or just before the hobbit complete with dragon (this is my current thought, though i need to punch a hole in the entrance) or as it would become following the death of Smaug. Any input from the community would be more than welcome....
That looks very cool! Never seen the hobbit before so I don't have much input to provide. Quick question though, did you build the mountain or was it naturally generated? Nice build regardless though

I have managed to get the gate and most of the mountain roughed in, and have begun work on the Kings Throne Room, trying to decide on the layout of the interior locations now also. New Haha, last post on there being from 2016 is a bit crazy But if it's still going I'd love to join. I'm a massive LOtR fan and a keen builder. Are you the person to talk to about potentially coming and having a look?
