Map Base Art and Artwork

  1. Are there any stores out there that deal in map-based artwork? Other than the seasonal art and pop art I see out in the frontier, are there any dealers in fine art for one's house?
  2. i know eskimo used to run a shop idk if anyone specialises in it. its rather a pain in the ass and you have to do it per smp you want it on. was hella expensive too but worth it obviously. if you do find someone lemme know im looking for a commision or two
  3. Ah, so a map I buy on one, won't make it through the vault to the other. Odd, as I thought the maps had their own bitmap data
  4. they could but i think the way aikar explained it was they would have to be stored on emc's database to cross servers, and that would take alot of processing power for just one much less all the ones people would do
  5. Not so much processing power, as memory-access and access time and the volume of memory needed to access each instance of said map. A 128x128 map would take up as much memory as a 128x128 plane of blocks on a share server.

I guess I'll have to compose my own artwork. Abstract painting and duplicating Polock's style seems easy enough, but time consuming for 128 or 64 square-blocks. I ran Van Gogh's sunflower though a filter an came up with a very large project that would take weeks or months for 1 painting, Think I'll finish my house first.
  6. Once you've done it, you should think about selling them. Who doesn't need more great art?
  7. I have a gallery for this kind of art and am opening up a shop/ gallery on smp 6
  8. I do custom stuff too
  9. i might be contacting you
  10. I have a map flag shop thread.
