Right now, 'lock' and 'access' signs only affect the block immediately below them. Sometimes it's inconvenient to require a free space right above the block in question, so it would be useful to be able to attach a direction to the sign: for example "<lock", "lock>" or "^lock" to make the sign affect the block to the left, right or above, respectively.
I think it's a wonderful idea. If only aikar would get around to it instead of asking people if they want free rupees. *no offense Aikar*. Truely.
