In short folks, upgrading a computer usually isn't worth the money, since you don't get much out of it. And individual parts can be expensive (Good chips are 100+ on low end, graphics are the same). You get a much better deal simply buying a new computer, or building your own (since they bundle things together alot). MSi makes probably the best bang for your buck pre-put together computers.
Minecraft is actually a pretty big resource hog. Just because it looks like, well, minecraft, doesn't mean it runs too easy. Still, something is up with your minecraft / java if its not running right yet skyrim is.
