Can't find quartz to mine

  1. I can't seem to find any quartz to mine in the Netherlands, I am in the frontier so it isn't near anywhere else that has been mined. Is there a trick to finding the quartz? If so what is it?

  2. You have to go to the wastelands. The Frontier was generated long before quartz was added to Minecraft. The Wastelands reset with every Minecraft update.
