Block and Item Images

  1. I've been searching around, trying to find an easy download of the block and item images as a zip file or somesuch. Just wondering if anyone might have some insight about where I might find such a thing, or if I should just bite the bullet and either download them separately or play around with background image positioning to utilize one of the many available sprite sheets out there.

    Thanks!
  2. Aint there one in the .minecraft folder?
  3. Well, the default texture pack has all of them, but they're all in a single file, which would mean using it like a sprite sheet. I think I might go ahead and use a sprite sheet anyway, if for nothing more than the fact that there's hundreds of blocks and items, and sending a request for every item's image each time a page is loaded would really lag things up compared to loading a single sprite sheet image with all the images together and slicing it up using CSS. It's just more work, but I suppose the easy way out isn't always the best way.
