Trust me, there are plenty, not forgetting the Asian market. You need to be wary of figures as a lot of MMOG's will count their entire playerbase, whether their accounts are actually still subscribed or not. WoW is not the biggest out there.
I play WoW, i get on it when I'm not on minecraft, though i get on minecraft when my two friends are online and want to play on it. People are going to hate WoW or people are going to love it. Me, I love it.
I've played it pretty much since release, although I unsubscribed for a few months in Cata. The variety available in the game is amazing, something for pretty much everyone, except people who want to build stuff of course...
I feel like World of Warcraft is a computer scripted version of Dungeons & Dragons and for this reason, I dislike it. These things shouldn't be scripted. That's not a real RPG.
