That's because you aren't a year older. You just happen to trigger the carry-over to the next whole number in a base 10 arbitrary system based on the approximate speed of Earth moving around the sun. A year is nothing but a human construct, but the mind is a powerful thing and will make you believe whatever you let it.
One thing is certain though - the amount of sugar in a modern cake is obscene, and many entities love sugar, including cancer! It thrives in a sugar-filled environment, duplicating even faster than usually, creating exponential growth and pain for your body. You can't think in exponents, so you probably can't grasp that implication.
But suffice to say a small increase in the growth rate dramatically reduces the time until your cancer is twice as big. Anyways, carry on with your wonderful activities because regardless of how long you stretch out your life there will still only be one and cake is tasty.
