Well, the only other server I have been on had a faction system where each faction could claim land based on the number of members it had. A total of 10 16x16 plots for each faction member. Now I know that isn't a ton of space, but if someone wanted to make something, all they would have to do is create their own faction, make it closed so no one else could join,

and then build on their claimed land. Since only faction members have any permissions except move on that faction's land, it is impossible to greif someone elses buildings. The best part is that it wouldn't really ruin the vanillaish feeling of the server, because as the red wolves have demonstrated, there are already factions here, just not with the faction plugins.

wow... I guess that was a bit of a long-winded answer... wasn't it?

The biggest problem with that is that the Empire has thousands of players, so you would end up walking all over the Wilderness and all the land being claimed already (not being able to find anywhere to mine).

Well, I suppose that is true...

I would love to have a system where we could do something like that, just haven't come up with a good way yet :) Thanks for the suggestions :)

I had another thought on this idea Justin. Maybe you could make factions supporter only? That would give people a reason to become at least iron supporters to join factions, gold to be able to help manage a faction, and diamond to make their own faction perhaps? Just throwing the idea out there.
