Mods have the power to edit/delete posts, and, yes, they should have that power. But it should be used *sparingly*, if at all. My experience has been that they use it way too much for my liking.
Just so everyone knows, this was specifically on the posts made by theenigmaparadox. His posts were very specifically belittling the staff and community in a slanderous way. We will not allow that type of behavior here.Shaving is free to his opinion of course and we don't have negative feelings towards him for his opinion. :)
However, we only reserve removing posts that very strictly go against the rules of harassing other members in slanderous ways, which is rare, but happens.
I can see the reason shaving decided against staying as moderator. I don't agree with moderators editing people's posts. I can understand why they do, but I think if they are going to modify it in anyway, why not just delete the post.
It's kind of a lose/lose. We get people who prefer we edit the posts with the reason they were deleted, then we get people who want us to straight up delete them. We simply do what we feel is most appropriate at the time for each individual situation.
You're welcome. Please realize that no actions the staff do are meant to cause harm or negativity. There's really no 100% correct way to do things, so we do the best we can per situation. :)
I understand. I appologize to you and the rest of the staff in that thread. I was super tired, and I'm sorry for Raising hell. I already appologized to Chicken.
I don't see the editing as a bad thing, the staff don't edit them in a malicious way, only when people break the rules. theenigmaparadox has stepped over the line one too many times and was rude and attacking people. That's not something we should have to see :/ PLease don't go shaving.
