I would argue that educational YouTube videos fit this bill. There are all sorts of videos out there that are in these short intervals, and provide a wealth of information whether you've never heard of the topic or you have lots of experience.
Thank you for the youtube topics to watch. I will check out both links later today. I have used youtube for videos but then I get caught up on the endless flipping of one idiotic short to the next hoping the next one makes the time spent worth while.
I'm going to guess North is up because that is the way the red end of a magnetic compass points and that someone arbortarily (sp?) assigned that to indicate North/up.
I spend a ton of time on youtube. So much worthwhile stuff on Youtube. Honestly, that is what I do with most of my leisure time. Really don't need TV or Netflix (and similar) subscriptions. An insane amount of content on the Youtube.
triphora, those two videos are exactly what I had in mind. The map one was also fairly entertaining, with even a smidge of Monty Python style. My new question is how do you find those types of videos? Thank you!
If you have a Google/YouTube account, and you are logged in, YouTube will automatically recommend you videos that are similar to ones you have already watched. I've found that this is very useful - I just click on one I like and keep clicking ones that seem interesting.
One channel I like that covers a lot of different topics with humor interspersed is Half as Interesting (https://www.youtube.com/@halfasinteresting/videos), which is a good jumping off point, I think.
YouTube's recommended videos is part of my loop of boredom problem. For a while I watched clips from the Dirty Harry movies and road rage videos so YouTube did the math and figured I was a guy interested in slightly violent movies and racing cars so that is all I am presented with along with other inappropriate stuff I am not interested in.
I did view the two links you sent me and I'll probably watch them again to try changing what is recommended. I just need a few ideas thrown my way to get interesting topics into the mix.
