    Even subtropical areas can get harsh Winters. At least it doesn't happen as often, and at least they do have longer swimming seasons and higher diversity of plants that can survive.

    But honestly, I can relate. Here in Tennessee, the Winter came in full force, but I'm still glad I was born into a subtropical climate, as temperate would get really annoying, tropical would get really boring, and polar or boreal would be both.
