cable other than the HDMI cable I currently am using? I am a PC noob so not sure if there is some other cable that would work better and fix the blacking out.
GPU is seated properly and I just made sure that the ports are clean. Gonna use the computer for an hour or so and see if the monitor goes black again- it doesn't happen too often maybe once every 30mins so we will see.
No more blacking out of the monitor so far! So thanks Ben. Played some CS:GO - bit of heat being pushed out of the back fan area when playing that on default settings.
Have you tried unplugging and completely turning off the monitor? I’ve had similar issues in the past. If this doesn’t work, try using the output on the motherboard to see if that port does it too.
Unplugged and turned off monitor. Just installed the driver yesterday so not sure if I will need to uninstall then reinstall that... Graphics card had an update I needed to install so fingers crossed that fixes it.
@AC, the case is pretty cool especially for the value. And... as I am typing this the monitor did it again. The HDMI cable is brand new but I thought maybe there was an issue with it and ordered a new one from amazon but will take 4 days.
Have not set my xbox up entirely since the move... My modem is like 10 feet from my desk now so all my 6 foot ethernet cords are useless and Walmart was out of stock of their 14 foot cords so waiting for amazon for that as well. Keep in mind though I was using an old hdmi cord previously and then tried a completely brand new cord too.
It has not done this issue before the move, but I will have to try plugging my xbox into it and seeing if it happens on the xbox. I could also just plug the computer into my tv (just a 32in 720p tv), but that would do the trick to test.
Used my xbox to watch a 90 minute movie and the monitor did not black out. New HDMI cable came in the mail today (4k cable, wasnt sure if needed 4k hdmi but since monitor is 4k I went and got it). Will see if happens again.
So I have been on my computer the last 1 hr 45 min with no black screening. It is looking to be that the 4k hdmi cable I bought did the trick I hope lol.
