I was actually thinking of a knight who got cast out from the kingdom because he was blamed for a crime he didnt do. from there he has to survive in the wild for a time, then somehow proove his innocence and go back to being a knight.

I feel like your idea would be a little...ominous and depressing. No offense.

Back then knights could get away with basically any crime, except for treason against the royal family basically. Knights were also super rich...

A great story would be about the Knights Templar during the crusade period when in 1307 the King of France basically slaughtered them all, although some got away and in hiding in secret societies, gathered their riches and rebuilt themselves. It's actually a true event too, I highly recommend a story on the Knights Templar being driven out of France by the King.
