(Pt.1) Thanks Otus! Thoroughly impressed so far with the welcoming community spirit on here, it's really refreshing to see.
I sure do have a strong taste for rock, albeit it was much stronger in my late teens/early 20s when I used to rock lead guitar on my Epiphone LP Custom in a couple of bands.
(Pt.2) Unfortunately the demands of University followed by working abroad put all that on the back-burner, whilst my current work don't give me a huge amount of time to invest in playing, but I'm really looking to get my own written music back on track!
(Pt.3) I wouldn't say I listen to a huge amount of metal, I used to be more of a pop-punk and post-hardcore kinda kid and also loved a bit of Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, SOAD, Muse, Biffy Clyro etc... Nowadays it's just a completely eclectic mix on my Spotify!

Yeah, I have been playing guitar for about a year now. I mainly listen to anything from Classic rock to Death Metal, Thrash and Heavy Metal. Sometimes i'll listen to traditional or classical music too.
Nice one, well I might not be from a metal-guitarist background but I do have a classical guitar background if you ever need some advice with technical/theory!
