I'm related to people on both sides of that war, and the Irish Civil War, and The Troubles. I'm not sure if I'm honoured with that ancestry, but to those who fought bravely and with honour and for what they thought was right: good on you. Overall, screw war. If only the British had acted quicker on listening to Irish demands, and maybe such bloodshed could have been avoided.
I was talking about those who fought in WWI. I am pretty sure I have ancestors who fought in the 1916 rising although I'm not sure. I'd be proud of that, but wouldn't be proud of people fighting in the troubles, as that was a conflict very much centred on religious discrimination.
