Parents can't watch their children 24/7, nor should they be expected to. They still have to do other things, and so they should not be expected to spend their whole life monitoring their child. If you were distracted for a moment and your child was abducted, legal action would be taken against the abductor, not the mother.

lol parents shouldn't be expected to watch their children 24/7?! When your in a place like a zoo you damn well better watch that child. No excuse can justify that mothers stupidity which led to the death of an innocent animal. That's... I have no words.. wow.

Certain situations, there's no excuse. I never let my daughter leave my sight when ever we've gone. And were talking young children here. Just can't.
