It's actually mostly due to us. Our creations and actions are what have caused many problems, in the end we are the root problem even if it's not us directly.
Still not the only cause. Sure we've contributed a lot to the ongoing mass extinction but animals have been getting wiped out ever since life became a thing. Those can't adapt to the current environment, die.
I'm gonna have to agree with Soul. Being a more advanced species doesn't mean we get along better or do better for the planet, necessarily. And we aren't the only thing wrong. Extinctions happen naturally, and to say humans are the only cause is wrong and in a way biased.
