Oh no. :( Well you get dirt or any block you want and find the light source. Then you place the block on your guess and it should put out the light.
I turn down brightness all the way and turn off smooth lighting. It should highlight the block. It can also be up in the air a few blocks as well. So place a few dirts up and around. It should work.
