A 12 year old kid dropped his bus pass on the floor while I was going home on the bus the other day. I muttered 'sorry', and he picked it up. He said 'no problem, thanks'. I wondered why I said sorry in the first place, but it confused me more how he said "thanks". Like, what are you thankful for? I said sorry because you were being a prat with your friends and dropped your bus pass?
I also nearly walked into a lamppost once. I looked up before I did and kind of moved my body so I'd glance off it. As I did that, I just said "excuse me there mate".
