Harvest Moon: Back to Nature for Girl was my absolute favorite. :) I originally played BTN before ever hearing of Harvest Moon. Then I played the original SNES game, all GBC, and kind of fell off with PS2/PSP. I stuck to Nintendo only releases besides the PS1 BTN & BTN for Girl. Now I am loving More Friends of Mineral Town -- a BTN for Girl remake that doesn't kick you off the farm for "failing".
I remember when my sister would fight over who gets to play, and we'd often sit for hours on the weekends taking turns going to the mountain and back in order to collect that wood for a bigger house. My first game was Friends of Mineral Town on Gameboy, and I loved every bit of it.. until the load froze. That was probably the most depressing moment of that year.
One of my sisters was just as hooked on BTN as I was and we had competitions to see who could marry a specific girl before the other one could in our play time. :)
I still know how to get every single power berry and I usually go hunting them immediately. ;) First to the tree on top of the mountain and then the cave and on the field at home.
Then I cheat the horse race and the swim competition until I win hahaha. Getting all you can as quick as you can will allow you to farm a ton of turnips in spring as well as clearing the property of most things. Then I get my Axe and Hammer upgraded to Mythril a.s.a.p. for the remaining stuff and to build up the farm. lol
haha, in Harvest Moon DS, a glitch happened while I was playing where the fisherman gave me near 1 million currency, and I plunged it all into new fisherman. Needless to say, I never needed money again. :p
