I think 1.8 broke alot of servers' supply of obsidian, i'll be working on a portal based one soon, hopefully making it doable with only 1 person, then testing its' production to see which method produces faster. thanks for the support and feedback =)
I accidentally and annoyingly discovered the portal production method recently... ugh. not fun when you are trying to get someone to teleport some 400 blocks away. apparently i did my math wrong XD
were you trying portal jump for faster travel? i haven't played with it much but i remember seeing a few designs back in the day, did you get it working or did it just turn into an obsidian generator =P
It was too far away from the portal I was trying to link it to. It essentially turned into an obsidian generator yes but I don't know how you would be able to do that without two people.
it's looking to be that way, but I could still have it auto re-light after player in overworld breaks it, so anyone with an alt can afk it to keep the chunk loaded
the one i saw back in 1.5 would shut off nether side, but i will of course have to test it, its all just ideas for now since last night i figured out the final piece for the ALU on my analog computer. so i'm excited to get it put together.
