Mehhh, did some researching. I guess 8.1 is correct. But im guessing hoping that W8 is just a messed up part of their history.
Ive used both, I own a Windows because I code web pages and do a lot of Java coding and computer coding. Windows is way easier for coding and more professional like. Ive used a MAC all through my highschool media and web page classes, I couldnt code much with a MAC but in the graphic arts and video editing the MAC wins there. But now that pretty much all MAC programs can be run by Windows the whole graphic arts thing goes down the drain since now i can put photoshope and Premiere on my Windows. Heck i really dont give a crap as long as it has a lot of RAM so i dont lag on Games oh and hard drive space because my computer is 99% games I have a 1TB harddrive it is almost full cuz of games xD. oh windows 8 sucks i had to go to a windows 8 orientation just to figure that crap out and it still ticks me off im like wtf. And it said on the box "Beginners friendly!" heck no my 13 year old cousin hated it. I changed back to Windows 7.
Contrary to popular belief, Windows 8 is better than Windows 7. The only bad thing about is the removed start menu and aero theme, but you can easily get those back with some small programs. It also runs much better on Smartphones and Tablets, as it was designed for those. I've never had any of that on my Windows 8 Linux is better than Mac and Windows. It's just hell to install stuff on Linux operating systems when you first start out. I'm going to fix this for you... Pros for mac: Looks good. Most products work seamlessly together. Cons: Is overpriced. Owned by a badly run, thieving-hypocrite company. Software Distribution is hell. Not User-Friendly at all. I know this from owning a Mac laptop in the past... I got frustrated with it whenever I used it. Pros for Windows: More widespread than Mac. More programs are compatible with it. User Friendly. With Aero, it has a nice look and feel to it. Cons for Windows: Owned by a badly-run, anti-innovating company. Updates contain big changes. And with Windows 8, the changes were taken too far too fast. Pros for Ubuntu (The best Linux OS :3): Looks good. Software Distribution is amazing. Unlike the Windows Store, the Ubuntu store is extremely neat. Amazing for gaming and programming. It's layout is user-friendly. Cons: Most programs need to have terminals entered in to install, which can get confusing and sometimes doesn't work. Any more cons with Ubuntu, you're either really bad with computers or you're stupid.
They're making a Windows 8.1, A.K.A Windows: Blue. It's windows 8 but with Aero and the Start Menu back :3
What is with people and finding Mac not user friendly... It must be too user friendly all you people used to roaming files and folders can't find something on the desktop
I like the Charms Bar... Plus, Windows: Blue. Look it up. If you want to update to Windows 8 for its faster everything, then buy Windows: Blue when it comes out in the summer. It's like Win7-Win8 combo.
WINDOWS!. NUFF SAID . On debates like these windows will always win because its most widely used and avialable and not to mention A LOT cheaper than macs. Have always been a windows user and probably always will be. Those tacky adverts about how you can use iCloud and such doesn't tempt me to get one as i don't even have any apple devices anyway. Mba will know my true feeling for mac because I seem to have rants about them on skype occasionally
Aren't there like, 3 of these arguments already? My view however is that macs are better. I simply love the force quit option, as it gets very annoying to wait for the "program not responding" thing that doesn't even work half the time. The interface is much more helpful/smoother to me than windows, and I wouldn't have survived the last few years if you couldn't search through the help tab. Speaking of help, when I was doing stuff in imovie and had no idea what was doing, there were videos in imovie to help me. I have yet to see windows incorporate something like that.
Actually yes I have or i wouldnt of went out and paid almost 700 dollars for mine... Apparently you haven't got used to how windows 8 works
I've used Windows my whole life and Macs just seem like a waste of time to me. My first computer was a Mac and I got a Windows because I loved it a lot more. I'm not sure about this fact, but Macs have a tendency to crash. My cousin's Mac crashed and we couldn't fix it. The main problem is there are different ways of downloading/using everything on the two different computers so if you get used to one of them you seem to hate the other kind more. But my Mac was always very difficult to use.
