I think this was luck. I have noticed often when the server is lagging you can see through blocks. This may have been how the chest was found.
You can hope for that, but alas, many players who know how to be quiet about it use wall hack/xray mods. Most are hard to detect if you are not standing next to the person watching them mine. And even then, there are coincidences, so unless they tell one of their buddies, (which is often how they are caught) that they are using a xray mod, then they keep going on their marry way. But we do watch for them. They are the scourge of the friendly minecraft community.
This is true and its very annoying when all the hard work you have done is stolen by someone who uses cheats or hacks. I have never been stolen from though i have several outposts in the wild. On other servers i have logged off only to come back on 2 minutes later to find that my house has been burnt to the ground and everything has been stolen. Empire minecraft is the best server ever!
I heard there is a rumor that chests will have a new form of magic protection coming soon in the wild. =X
yes its just a glitch i find that many times that how i found the stronghold on smp1 and found an ingame map of the stronghold in the libbary
