Hi, it's me again! Yesterday I watched a video from slicedlime, because I saw that new pig variants were added, and I found this interesting. What I found more interesting was the term 'feature drop', that was used in the video. I hadn't heard of it before, but found an official article on it from September or August 2024 (the date format is ambiguous...): The Future of Minecraft's Development. The idea is to release more small updates instead of releasing huge updates with big gaps in between. Interesting! What do you think of this? To be honest, it's been a few years since I actively followed Minecraft development, and I don't really care that much anymore.
I think it may be annoying for datapack creators since their stuff is going to be breaking between more versions and generating more and more views for Conure's videos on why they do break XP I am really excited to see how EMC is going to integrate the new data structure stuff though, since stuff like mob size (including players!) is something super easy to change now
Yeah, I was wondering if it might cause more update issues (for server plugins in particular). I'm not sure if it would: huge updates that were years in development can be quite a challenge to get updated for, and if the updates are smaller you can get up to date more quickly.
