[PRICE CHECK] Tools - all types and enchantments

Discussion in 'Price Inquiries' started by We3_MPO, Oct 3, 2024.

  1. How much does adding one of each material - leather, planks, gold ingots, cobblestone, iron ingot, diamond - increase tool prices per item used to craft it? I'm willing to ignore the tiny added cost of a stick or two because those drop from decaying leaves, and bamboo grows extremely quickly.

How much does a warped fungus on a stick cost unenchanted? Trident? Netherite upgrade template? Netherite ingot? Flint and steel? Fishing rod? Elytra? Crossbow? Carrot on a stick? Bow? Brush?

How much does every enchantment add beyond the baseline cost of a tool or piece of armor? I know it depends on the level, but if I just know how much Level I adds and how much the highest level adds where applicable, I can use that to determine a reasonable price for intermediate levels.

If you can help with even some questions/items/enchantments, thank you in advance! I don't expect any one person to know everything. My fault is full of enchanted stone tools and bows that I need to put up for sale because I'm running out of storage in town and reserves of unenchanted tools to avoid wasted experience.
  2. Generally, if the tool isn't diamond or netherite, it's worthless. Gold tools and armor dropped by zombie pigmen, for example, are best put into a smelter to make a golden nugget.

Diamond tools and armor with some random enchants can be acquired from villagers using emeralds. From there, the closer to fully enchanted the tool is, the more value it has. Most people are only willing to purchase tools that are fully enchanted. At that point, it's maybe 500r to 1k per tool or armor piece? The exact price is variable and has been fluctuating a lot. It's not much, though.

  3. Yeah, I definitely agree that wood, gold and leather gear are nearly worthless unless it's golden or leather boots to pacify piglins or avoid sinking and freezing in powder snow. Stone, iron, chainmail and turtle shells are undoubtedly somewhere in the middle, though; I feel like they could be handy for a very poor new/recently unbanned player if nothing else, especially if they're enchanted. I mostly wonder exactly how much those would be worth? I want to have some of everything just for the sake of reliability, but anything wood/gold or weaker is a very low priority unless it's max-enchanted golden boots or leather boots for specialized use.
