I am in the making of a library, in which I have 100+ signatures of people. I've come to realize that some things people have written are absolutely lovely, but right now, if someone strolls by the library they can see a signed book in a chest with a title. If there was some way people could read someone else's book in a chest without stealing it, that would be really cool! I also think that the community would develop more stories and such. Imagine - You could write a bunch of stories and people would come by and read them!
Actually there is a glitch that can work for this suggestion. Might take you a try or two but if you click on a preview sign and then shift-left click on the book and close out the preview sign quickly with tab. You have the item "ghosted" in your inventory and can read it. but once you move or open your inventory the "ghosted" item is no longer there.

This is such a great idea! I think a public library would definitely motivate me into writing more short stories.
This is something I was working on in the past but the server didn't cleanly support it. But I did think of a solution, just gotta find the time to tinker with it and try it.
