To everyone wondering about Minecraft.net being down...

What OS are you running? Also, 64bit or 32bit?

i have windows 7

windows 7 64 bit here, moved the .minecraft folder to desktop and browser works just fine for MC

Ok. If you're running the 64 bit version of Windows make sure you using a 64 bit of Java (downloadable from Java.com). Also, what browser are you using?

Ok, try this.

1. Open Firefox
2. Go to Java.com and click 'Free Java Download'
3. Open the downloaded .exe
4. Wait for Java to install
5. Visit http://www.minecraft.net/play and hope that works.

The login server is now back online but unstable! You may be able to log in with the launcher now.

Client-side successful logins are at a 55% rate at the moment.

Also, bare in mind that logins may take a little bit longer than normal for the next few hours.

Btw, if anyone's wondering why the icon is still red and says offline it's because it only turns green when there's a decently high login success rate.

Not down, just very unstable. Only a 22% success rate.
