Neighboring residences

  1. Hi, this is my son's account. He just joined your server and I am considering purchasing another Minecraft account so that I may join him and/or help him along. Is it possible to get residences next to each other? As he has just started yesterday, he has not built anything on his lot yet, so him moving would not be a issue. Thanks in advance for the help.

  2. Yes it is, you can move a residence to where you want it to go, whatever you build on a res and you want to move it, the progress you have made will stay on it.
  3. You can but depending on where and what server his res is on there might not be an open red next to him. You could use the Live maps or if you know his res number you can use the server res list to find it too. ;)
  4. If you want res's next to each other, you'll need to check the livemap (as aforementioned) for the SMP you're on and look for open res's that are next to each other. Open residences are represented on the livemap by orange highlighted boxes.

  5. It's definitely possible and relatively easy to do. From the way I understand it, you don't have an account yet. If so, the easiest thing would be for the new account to be moved, not the account that has posted.

The first step is to find which server your son has the account on. I don't know how much you know about Minecraft in general, or even if you've played it, so I'll try to simplify it as much as possible. ;) By logging onto the server and pressing the Tab key, it will show a list of players. At the top, it'll show a server name: Empire Minecraft - [Server].

The second step is to actually buy the account. When joining, don't connect to the IP play.emc.gs as you normally would. Instead, connect to [server].emc.gs. Use the server name you found previously. The IP will be one of smp1.emc.gs, smp2.emc.gs, smp3.emc.gs, and so on. This is probably the most important step.

Once you join the server, you'll be taken through a quick tutorial. After completion, you'll be placed on your blank 60x60 residence. You're going to have to do /res unclaim, then click the green wool that appears. You won't have a residence and will be free to claim another one.

Step four is locating a residence to claim. You need to visit your son's residence first, with /visit fisher9876543210. From there, you need to look for residences that are derelict or open. There will be four residences next to his, one on each side. You want to go on each of those residences and do /res info while standing on the residence. Look for one of two things: Status: Available or Derelict Status: Derelict. Once you find a residence that says either of those two things when you do /res info, you know that residence is good to claim.

If the residence says Status: Available, simply do /claim and that residence will be yours. If the residence says Derelict Status: Derelict, do /res forceclaim and click the green wool. There is a 5,000 rupee charge, but you'll have more than that when you join. You will now have a residence next to your son's.

It can be a bit confusing, so if you happen to mess up feel free to send me a PM and I'll help you out. See you around! If this doesn't work, or you can't find any available residences, let me know - there are plenty of other ways of going about this.

Edit: Wall of text. And colors.
  6. If the residence next to your son's is taken, then find 2 open residences next to each other. Then, you claim one of the residences and your son leaves his current res and takes the new one. :)
  7. There is a derelict lot right next to his, I'm going to purchase another account tomorrow and try to claim that lot. That seems the easier path. Thanks Penguin for the info about connecting to the correct server!

  8. Hi all, This is fisher9876543210's dad. Just wanted to thank everyone for the assistance! I set up my account today, moved to a plot right next to him and set all of the use preferences that I wanted assigned to both accounts. I was surprised that we BOTH receive a bonus for the referral. I had only expected him to get the bonus. Thanks again, everyone.
